Mission Style furniture together
with free shipping to become a market place our customers
can trust and depend on.
Because we understand our customers demands and needs
the Mission Furniture you see on this site will always
be solid hardwood, mostly solid oak furniture. We
use no veneer. We have designed this page to tell
a little about each item of Mission Furniture we sell.
Mission Style Furniture is the hot new oak furniture
on today's market. Not only is it the "in thing"
but there are benefits to owning the Mission Furniture
too.
Mission
Style Furniture has been around for many many
years. The idea was to build a solid piece of oak
furniture by hand in the arts and crafts style from
the finest craftsman around.
This created the mission style
furniture being as simply designed and as plain to
the eye as possible. All Mission Time Designs Furniture
is hand crafted. When purchasing our items please
allow time for the craftsman to build your piece,
finish it and get it ready for shipping. Usually orders
can be received in 4 to 6 weeks depending on the piece
ordered. Many of our oak furniture featured on this
site were ideas by customers. Many are one of a kind.
We have included each piece below and given a little
story behind it. We hope you enjoy.
The
Mission wine
racks we first built were given as gifts for
a son in law who cherishes collecting wine
racks. The wine rack was made simple and to
the point. A Wine rack serving table. Then we
added the wine rack with the drawers. Then a customer
asked for a wine
rack with an under glass storage so we thought
why not? Now we sell the oak wine
rack with the pull out drawer and the under
table glass storage. We have also added a new
wine
rack bar with stools and plenty of storage.
You can have these wine
racks done in just about any size that may
fit your needs.
The
first Mission hall bench we built was designed
by our own site designer. He felt the hall benches
and shoe bench combination would be a wonderful
place to sit and take off your shoes and at the
same time have a storage area for both your shoes,
hats and gloves. We laughed when he first said
hall bench
shoe storage bench at the same time. We were
wrong, this hall bench shoe storage bench has
been our number one seller. How many times have
the children lost their gloves? With this convenient
shoe storage bench, the shoes and gloves are kept
in the same place 24/7 No more last minute searching.
The benches
are sold under sizes but they can be built to
fit any need you may have.
The Mission Hall Table and
Console Tables were started because we needed something to display
under an old drawing we had. We sat the Hall Table at the top of
our stairs and it became the center piece of the hallway. We have
since then used this Hall Table for silly things like sitting extra
food on during the holidays. We have had many requests for various
sizes of console tables for sitting behind the sofa to actually
using it in the kitchen as decoration. This Console Table too can
be sized to fit any need you may have.
We
offer a large variety of styles in the Mission
Coffee
Tables and End
Tables. The tables come in various sizes.
There isn't much to say about these. Everyone
has end tables and most of us have the Coffee
Table. I am not really sure how they even
came about in the beginning of time. Maybe that's
some research we should do at a later time. All
the Tables you see on our site are solid oak.
If you don't see something you want, drop us an
e-mail and we will get it for you.
Children's Table
and Chairs have been a best seller for years. Every one loves the
miniature set to the full size table and chairs used by mom and
dad. We currently offer only a couple sets. The best pieces for
the best prices. We designed the Table and Chair plus storage for
our family so the children would have a neat place to keep their
crayons and books. The child's Table plus storage offer a handy
bed table as the storage top. Or it can be used when the child is
sitting on the sofa with you. Be sure and see the Table and chair
storage unit.
These
bar
stools are great. They are solid oak and will
last a life time. All bar stools are built with
spindles run full length down the sides. They
have padding on the seats to allow a comfortable
seat. The bar
stools come in a variety of sizes. Please
use your counter or table height when measuring.
You want your bar
stools to sit 10 inches lower than the bottom
of your counter.
Care Of Your Piece:
How Does Natural Light and Humidity
Effect My Solid Wood Furniture?
In both the manufacturing and finishing of handcrafted oak, cherry
maple and walnut furniture we try to bring forth the character and
beauty of the wood. All hardwood lumber has variations in the color
and grain; this is part of its natural beauty. But these variations
will make it impossible to guarantee an exact match in finish between
tow pieces of furniture, even though identical finishing processes
are applied. These characteristic qualities give solid wood furniture
its unique charm.
Hardwoods are a natural fiber. Because most solid
wood are open grained, your solid wood furniture will breath, expand
and contract with temperature and humidity changes even after protective
finishes have been applied. These minor cracks are part of the natural
beauty of the wood. Care in controlling the furniture's environment
can help minimize cracking and warping.
Control Environment of Solid oak Mission
Style Furniture
Keep the indoor humidity in the 35 to 45 percent
range to minimize these effects. Ultraviolet light from the sun
and fluorescent fixtures can cause chemical changes in the wood
and or furniture finish, so avoid placing you furniture in an area
where the sun will shine directly on it. Keep furniture away from
directs sources of heating and cooling. Avoid storing furniture
in an attic or cellar type environment.
Potential Changes of Solid oak Mission
Style Furniture
If the humidity move out of the ideal range,
solid wood table tops could expand or contract, causing a gap in
the center or at the ends where the two halves meet. It can also
cause splits or cracks in the grain pattern and joints of the wood
panels. These are not abnormal - the table is not considered defective
